Dualert is an attention getter
beacon for party-line comms systems using 20kHz tone triggering
(like RTS) or DC signalling (like Tecpro, Clearcomm and
ASL).
Originally designed as a
bespoke device for the Barbican Centre in London, Dualert is now
available for general release.
Features
Can be powered from the
comms loop power (like a beltpack) or external 12V
d.c.
Channel selection (I, II or
both) via front panel toggle switch.
Brightness and pattern of
indicator lights can be set via a front panel pushbutton
switch.
All settings are maintained
when power is removed.
Automatic switching between
external power and loop power.
Automatic detection of
Tecpro/Clearcomm (d.c.) signalling and RTS (Tone)
signalling.
Rugged aluminium extruded
case with magnetic fixings for attachment to steel racks, shelves
etc.
Very low current requirement
- typically 17mA at full brightness (less than half a typical
beltpack) when running from loop power
Protected against reverse
polarity and transients. Will not be damaged by inadvertent
connection to a microphone circuit with 48V phantom
power.
